PANELISTS:

Heather Akou: Professor at Indiana University
Dr. Akou is an Associate Professor of Fashion Design at Indiana University, Bloomington.  As a long-time advocate for Muslim students and faculty at IU, she now serves as a strategist for the University Alliance for Racial Justice (an organization that advocates for the civil rights of students, staff, and faculty in higher education in the state of Indiana).

Huwaida Arraf: Civil Rights/Human Rights Attorney, MI
Huwaida Arraf is a Palestinian-American civil rights attorney and human rights activist who has devoted her life to fighting systemic injustice. She co-founded the International Solidarity Movement/ISM and former chair of the Free Gaza Movement. The ISM was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003 and 2004. She is passionate about human rights and has been involved in nonviolent legal and grassroots initiatives to support Palestinian rights for the last twenty years.

Lilia: Student Activist
Lilia is an undergraduate student organizer with the Palestine Solidarity Committee.
